What this says
Cancellation of the 60-day special exemption
TLDRThis is the legal kill-switch for the 2024 special 60-day visa exemption. It does not write the new 30-day rule; that is the next notification.
- Clause 1 repeals the 15 July 2024 Interior notification that let listed passport holders stay up to 60 days as a special case.
- That 2024 rule covered tourism, work, or short-term business. All three purposes go away with this repeal.
- It is issued under section 17 of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979), with Cabinet approval on 14 July 2026.
- It takes effect 15 days after publication on 31 August 2026, so about 15 September 2026.

What this says
Visa on Arrival list reduced
TLDRThis is Visa on Arrival eligibility, not the 30-day stay rule. The 2024 VoA list is repealed and replaced with three countries.
AzerbaijanBelarusSerbia
- Clause 1 cancels the 15 July 2024 VoA notification.
- The new list is Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Serbia only.
- VoA is a paid visa at an immigration checkpoint. It is a different scheme from visa exemption.
- These four notices do not set a visit-frequency cap for VoA, and this notification does not state a stay length.
- Same force date: about 15 September 2026.
Same-day package
Three other notifications published with the 60-to-30 change
- A 15-day tourism exemption for Seychelles and Mauritius. Land or designated-checkpoint entries are twice per calendar year; this notice does not name the ASEAN exception.
- Visa on Arrival cut to Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Serbia. These notices do not set a visit-frequency cap or a stay length for VoA.
- On the 30-day list, land or designated-checkpoint entries are generally twice per calendar year, except Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, or a nationality the Minister names.

Questions
QWhen does the 30-day rule start?
The notifications take effect 15 days after publication on 31 August 2026, so about 15 September 2026.
QDoes a 60-day stamp already in my passport stay valid?
A stamp already granted remains valid until the date printed on it. New entries after the effective date receive the new period.
QIs the new exemption still for work or short-term business?
No. The 2024 special case covered tourism, work, or short-term business. The replacement 30-day list is for tourism.
QWhat happens at land borders on the 30-day list?
Designated-channel or land-border entries are generally limited to twice per calendar year. Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, and Singapore are excepted, and the Minister may designate others. These notices do not put a visit cap on airport arrivals.
QDo Seychelles and Mauritius have the same land-border exception?
No. The 15-day notice also caps designated-channel or land-border entries at twice per calendar year, but the only exception written there is a nationality the Minister designates. It does not name Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, or Singapore.
QWhat changed for Visa on Arrival?
The 15 July 2024 VoA list is repealed. The new list is Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Serbia. VoA is a paid visa at a checkpoint, not a visa exemption. These four notices do not set a visit-frequency cap or a stay length for VoA.

15-day exemption, Visa on Arrival, and how often you can enter
- 30-day exemption: Twice a year at land borders — Designated-channel or land-border entries are generally limited to twice per calendar year, except Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, or a nationality the Minister names. Airport arrivals are not given a visit cap in these notices.
- 15-day exemption: Seychelles, Mauritius — Tourism only, 15 days, not 30. Land or designated-checkpoint entries are also twice per calendar year, unless the Minister excepts a nationality. This notice does not name the ASEAN four.
- Visa on Arrival: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Serbia — A paid visa at a checkpoint, not a visa exemption. These four notices do not set a visit-frequency cap for VoA, and they do not state a stay length.
Need a longer stay?
30 days is not a long-stay visa
